Highlights of Malaysia

Malaysia has something for just about everyone. From a romantic getaway or honeymoon to a family vacation, you will find Malaysia a welcoming paradise. Malaysia just falls short of being an island since it is surrounded on three sides by water and divided itself into east and west by the Borneo Sea. The beaches are astoundingly beautiful and clean. There are some you will find that are virtually deserted and provide sustenance for your soul. Kuala Lumpur is the capital, and what a capital it is! Steeped in history, it boasts diverse activities from a rich and exciting nightlife to some of the best golf courses in the world! From the Bintang Walk in Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle to the Lake Gardens you can experience the best in shopping, eating, the arts and culture, and picturesque sites. The cities most commonly visited, besides Kuala Lumpur, are Batu Feringgi, Georgetown, Johor Bahru, Kuah, Langkawi, Melaka, Penang, Petaling Jaya, Sabah, Sarawek, Selangor, and Shah Alam. Across Malaysia you will find natural rain forests, exotic foods, and unique architecture. There is so much to see and do in Malaysia that you will probably want to return again and again.

Getting to Malaysia

The major International Airports of West Malaysia are located in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. In East Malaysia, you will most likely be flying into Kuching or Kota Kinabalu International Airports. Air Asia is, by far, the least expensive airline to fly, regardless of your embarkation point (Malaysia is Air Asia's hub). Air Asia handles all of the domestic and international flights within Asia, while Air Asia X covers international flights to and from all other countries.

Malaysia Airlines is an alternative to Air Asia or Air Asia X. This airline is operated by the government of Malaysia and though it may be a little more costly, they serve better food, have larger planes with more space and may be preferable during extended flights
